Hydraulic tube fittings
Tube systems run at higher pressure than hose, tolerate tighter bends, and are held to closer tolerances. The fitting is where that precision either holds or fails.
Families we supply
| Family | Standard | Sealing | Where used |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24° cone (DKO) | DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1, L and S series | 24° cone; soft seal or metal-to-metal | European hydraulic tube systems |
| JIC 37° flare | SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 | 37° metal cone | North American tube systems |
| ORFS | SAE J1453 / ISO 8434-3 | Captive O-ring on a flat face | High-reliability tube systems |
| Compression (bite-type) | DIN 2353-adjacent, various | Ferrules bite into the tube | Instrumentation, low to medium pressure |
| Weld-on nipples | Per family above | Welded joint plus cone or flare seat | Custom tube runs |
The L and S series trap
DIN 2353 comes in two series. L (light) and S (heavy)
use different tube wall thicknesses, different nut and body dimensions, and different pressure ratings. The
thread may look similar, but L and S parts do not interchange — and the difference is not obvious by eye once
the parts are off the tube. Always state L or S, and state the tube OD.
What we supply alongside the fittings
- Nuts and progressive-ring ferrules for the family you use
- Weld-on nipples and weld-on flange heads
- Tube adapters between families (24° cone to JIC, 24° cone to ORFS)
- Banjo bolts, bonded washers and O-ring sets
- Bulkhead fittings and locknut sets for panel runs
What to specify
- Family and standard
- Series where it applies (DIN L or S; JIC is a single series)
- Tube OD, and the thread at the connecting end
- Configuration: straight, elbow (45° / 90°), tee, cross, bulkhead
- Material and finish: carbon steel zinc-plated, or 316 stainless
